It’s over ten years now since I left my job as a journalist.
I know that as the anniversary also coincides with a major event, which sparked my decision to give up my career and move into PR and social media.
It also, rather randomly, coincides with my one and only meeting with Sir Richard Branson.
I received an unexpected call last week from a former colleague at the Press Association asking if I would consider being interviewed about the ten year anniversary of the Grayrigg train disaster.
The fatal railway accident, involving Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Trains, happened just after 8pm on February 23, 2007, in Cumbria, in the UK, and I was one of the first reporters to arrive at the scene.
You can hear my interview with Heart FM Scotland about the accident and my meeting with Sir Richard here https://audioboom.com/posts/5638068-ten-years-on-heart-news-speaks-to-the-reporter-who-took-richard-branson-down-to-the-grayrigg-rail-crash
